Rainbow Blak, The Social Media Haven that Every Black Queer Woman Should Know About

Who doesn’t love engaging in great conversation and spirited discussions with amazing people?  There’s nothing like being among folks of like mind in a safe, comfortable space where you can exchange ideas and opinions.  However, sometimes, you might not feel like leaving your house to do so.  That’s why Rainbow Blak is a great resource for queer women of African descent.  Created by Koffee Brown in 2009, the social media network offers a variety of spaces to share, explore and debate experiences and issues unique to black LGBTQI life from the comforts of your own home.   From fashion and gender expression to health and current events, Rainbow Blak delivers access to a litany of topics directly to your fingertips.  Post your latest literary piece or musical project, participate in a forum discussion, or join a group;  the network presents countless opportunities to cultivate lasting relationships in whatever capacity you choose.  Most importantly, Rainbow Blak fills a void left by mainstream dating/social media communities by catering to the perspectives and interests of queer black women.  We commend Brown’s efforts and dedication to this project and look forward to what she has in store for us.  So, if you haven’t already, check out the website, create a profile and dive into the interactive fun.

    • The creator, Koffee Brown, has been at it for four years now. With no background in computer science, she built the site from the ground up herself. It’s an amazing feat really, so we’re glad we could remind you to take a look at it. Thanks so much for reading!
